Happy Easter

Easter supposed to be a religious event, but I guessed not in this country anymore, Easter here is more and more commercial.
Shops are decorates with Easter bunny, no one greets people Happy Easter and even worst Friday is open as usual, there isn’t any indication that this country is celebrate true Easter other than the churches, although 40 million people in this country declared or claimed to be a Christian.

My mind went to the way my country celebrate Easter, Easter is one of the main event in their religious calendar, people greets to each other Happy Easter, and by Friday after church the main road will be block for certain times special for the procession where many people from many organizations Christians and non Christians dressed up in Roman time and carry the cross for long miles, while singing the via do lorosa .

In Philippines even worse, some people not only carry the cross but they also voluntarily to be crucified, a real crucified, this ritual happen every year.

I guess these scenes won’t happen here in this country, anything about religion is heavily involved with PC in afraid to offend other’s people religion, how come? the Christianity teach us the love and forgiveness, how come people get offended by love and forgiveness? my Muslim friends and Muslim relatives always wish us their friends and relatives a Happy Easter or Happy Christmas and we do the same on Eid’s day or Idul Adha, and no one get offended, but smile widely, happy and feel the peace in our hearts.
Happy Easter
If I have wounded any soul today
If I have caused one foot to go astray
If I have walked in my own willful wayDear Lord, forgive!
